Petaling Jaya Museum

The Museum is located in Petaling Jaya District, Selangor, Malaysia. Petaling Jaya Museum features the interesting history of Petaling Jaya, from its humble beginnings to being granted city status in 2006. Set amid the green surroundings of the Taman Jaya park, the museum takes up the building of the former environment education centre at Taman Jaya. The museum is divided into three galleries showcasing the history of PJ’s origin, PJ administration and PJ expansion and development. Among the items on display are commemorative badges of the then PJ Municipal Council (MPPJ), from the personal collection of former councilor S. Panchacharam. There are also items from MBPJ like motorbikes, uniforms and wheel clamps used by enforcement officers. The museum also features a 3D model of the city, multimedia presentations and photographs. The museum opens everyday except Fridays and public holidays from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. free of charge. The museum is accessible within walking distance east of Taman Jaya LRT Station.
